Ski school in Gerlos
ALLERGYWhen your child is allergic for something or has a disability please let the instructor know. Also put a small note (with the allergy or disability) in the front pocket of the vest you will become at the ski school office. This way the instructor can take this into notice. |
CLASS SWITCHINGOf course it is possible to switch classes. If we notice that someone does not fit in a group, he/she can change groups. It is also possible to change your ski course for a snowboard course or vice versa, provided that a suitable group is available and there may be an extra charge. If you have booked group lessons and you decide to take private lessons we can rebook this as well. Here you need to pay the different in costs or you get a refund. |
COURSE DAYSChildren Children beginners and advanced can join a course every day of the week from Sunday till Friday. During Christmas and Spring Holidays, group courses will also take place on Saturday. Adults Group lessons for beginners start on Sunday and with enough new participants also on Monday. Advanced to expert adults can join a course every day of the week from Sunday till Thursday. On Friday and Saturday there are no ski lessons for adults. |
COURSE HOURSThe teaching hours in a group (children/adults) are from 09:45 till 12:00 and from 13:00 till 15:00 (lunch can vary app. 30 minutes). From 11:45 till 13:00 the instructor will eat together with the children that have lunch included in one of the restaurants. |
DAY OFF DURING THE SKI LESSONWe recommend you to book the ski lessons consecutively, because your group will learn new things every day. |
EXTENDING SKI LESSONSIf you book group lessons per day you will pay up to 3 days our daily rate. If you have booked a group course of 3 days and you like to extend than we will charge you the extension price. |
EXTENDING SKI MATERIALOur ski school does not rent out skis. When booking a ski class including ski rental, you will get a ski equipment voucher (ski's, ski boots and poles) for the duration of the ski course. If you want to keep using the equipment after the course has ended, we advise you to arrange the prolongation directly at the sport shop. The price difference will be charged by the rental shop. |
FOREIGN LANGUAGESWe speak many foreign languages in our ski school; English, German, Dutch, French. Greek, Italian and Spanish possible on application. |
HELMETWearing a helmet during the ski course is obligatory till the age of 14! For adult it isn't a MUST, but we advise to wear a helmet for your own safety. |
HOLIDAYSDuring Christmas and Spring holidays there are group lessons for children every day. |
ILLNESSWhen your child is sick and can not participate in the ski course on a day, please give notice. You can come at our office or our meeting point and let the instructor know. We can only return money with a doctor’s prescription. Due to health reasons, participants with a contagious disease can not take part in a course or kindergarten. |
LIFT CARDYou do not have to buy a lift card for children who are born after 01.01.2015. They can make free use of all ski lifts. For more information about lift cards and prices please click HERE. |
LUNCHWhat kind of food your child will get during the ski-course is depending on the restaurant where they are eating. A few dishes you can expect are: French fries with schnitzel/sausages/fish sticks, Kaiserschmarnn, spaghetti and pizza. Most of the time there will be some small sweet after lunch. |
MAXIMUM NUMBER OF PERTICIPANTS PER GROUPThe maximum number of participants per group is 12 persons. In practice the groups are mostly smaller. If necessary there will be 2 or 3 ski instructors at the Bambi and Bambini groups. |
MEETING POINT & TIMEThe meeting time and place for the ski course is printed on the tickets you have been given in our booking office. Try to be at the right meeting point in time, this way the group can start the course on time. Ask the instructor at what time and place you can pick up your child again. |
MENTALLY DISABLEDOf course children and adults with a mental disability are welcome to join our ski school. We do advice to book private lessons, this way the instructor can give you full attention. |
PAYMENTAs currency we accept; cash (€), Maestro, Mastercard or Visa. |
REBOOKIt is possible to rebook already booked lessons, if the desired lesson is available. In some cases we will charge an additional cost. |

RESTAURANTS FOR CHILDRENAt lunchtime the children groups will be spread over the different restaurants in the skiing area. The higher groups will normally eat further away and the beginners will eat at the restaurantS at Arena Centre, Seppi's or in the village at the Haberllift. In the morning at the meeting point the instructor will tell the parents where the group will have lunch that day. If your child doesn't have lunch included you can give the instructor money for that day in the morning at the meeting point. Or you can ask place and time at the ski instructor when you can pick up your child and return it. |
SKI BUSFor guests with a valid lift card there is a free shuttle bus in the village. For more information click HERE. |
SKI EQUIPMENTWhen your child participates in a ski course, it is important to come well prepared to the lessons. Think of the following items: good (warm) ski clothing, good ski-material (good, new skis will progress the learning process), sunglasses/goggles, sun cream, good waterproof gloves, tissues and snow-cap. |
SLEEPING POSSIBILITIES KINDERGARTENIn our kindergarten we have a separate room for the smallest children to sleep in. |
SWITCHING FROM COMBI-SKI LESSONSFor children up to approximately 5 years old, it is possible to switch from ski course to combi-ski course or vice versa. For example, you have booked 5 days ski lessons than we can rebook this for 5 days combined ski course (2 hours ski course and 2 hours kindergarten ) or vice versa. There are no extra costs. |
TOGETHER IN ONE GROUPThe classification of group lessons children is generally based on ski level, age and language. If your children have rather well the same ski level, please inform us before group assignment and we will do our best to place them in the same group. If children do not have the same ski level, the children will be classified in the lower group. So that children with less experience can come along as well. |
TOILET-TRAINED FOR THE SKI-COURSEDuring the skiing course it is not possible for the ski instructor to change a diaper. Of course, the ski instructor guides the children to the toilet, helps with dressing and undressing, and assists in cutting the food. |
WHAT IF MY CHILD DOES NOT LIKE THE SKI COURSEIf you are not sure whether your child will like the ski course, you can book only 1 day for a start. For children from 3 till 5 years you can also book our 2 hours try out offer. This includes Sunday or Monday 2 hours ski instructions to see whether your child likes it or not. |
WHAT TO BRING TO THE DAY CARE CENTREWhen you bring your child to our day care centre, please bring the following items with you: diapers, wipes, teddy bear, extra underpants etc. Don't forget to leave your mobile phone number at the desk |
